about the studiO

T here's a call from the Father to return to the simple things. It is not a season that we are entering, but rather a call to go home. Home is where you remain and rest. Where your roots are. But the simplicity He is calling us to is not merely the discarding or excess, nor is it the addition simpler routines and appearances. It is the hidden work of the Holy Spirit; it is a call to holiness and the simplicity of the Kingdom of God. One night in prayer, towards the end of summer 2023, I heard this beautiful command from the Father and He opened my heart to Him in a new way.

He began the work of His studio in me and taught me what to pray—I haven’t stopped learning + writing since then. Our Father and God spoke, “Pray, ‘give to me something else You want to reveal!’” So I did. And He answered me, “Leave the sophisticated and trailblazing; invest in normal and simplicity.

Oh how the weariness we often experience in trying to fulfill the all the roles our lives demand is because we are trying to do it! God is calling us to rest; to take our hands off and cling to Him. And if we were doing this, He wouldn’t need to say it. It’s gonna be so good.

There’s an investment the Father is proposing to us, like the opportunity presented to Orpah and Ruth. Come to Him; draw near to Him through the simplicity of His Word. Hearing and doing again. Believing then seeing again.

Sophisticated—deprived of native or original simplicity. Deprived. Trailblazing is a synonym. This is the weariness, where we perceive that His grace has lifted. Somewhere along the path, someone told us that His promises are not enough and we need take control. That we need to make our own paths because God is withholding from us. And we believed it, leaving His paths of peace and ways of pleasantness.

This is His studio; a quiet workroom to restore the original beauty of family, marriage, and community by restoring the hidden beauty of His daughters. To devote ourselves to good works. To hear His voice again and know the affection of the Father. To nourish the Body through the simplicity of His Word + His presence. Nothing more or less.

There’s a rest and maturity He is calling us to in choosing the normal life of 1 Thessalonians 4:11. And the mature fruit? It’s that sweet fruit.

  • (/oo-yai/)

Uyai means “beautiful” in Ibibio—a language native to southeastern Nigeria.

  • a study | an art studio | a beauty studio

  • Build upon the wisdom + the simplicity of the love and power of God for salvation, His everlasting Word.

“The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.”

    Psalm 119:130 (NKJV)

  • The hidden beauty is in the hidden work. A workroom to equip the saints—here, His beloved daughters.

Hello, my name is Angel.

“Truth and simplicity we must uphold. And by the grace of God, I am learning to see that these are also the most beautiful means of expression: sincerity and simplicity. All series teachings, art pieces, gatherings, and Vessel are prepared and shared in care of this loving statute and as they are revealed to me.

In this service unto God and His daughters, He has emphasized our need to worship Him and not womanhood or motherhood. This empowers no one (not good—we actually need to empower one another!) By God’s grace and mercy, we can wisely honor + strengthen one another without losing sight of Jesus. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. However, with Him, we can do all things. That’s power. May we hold fast to this true empowerment—we’re gonna need it."
